Exterior Makeovers/Curb Appeal:  Inspiring Better Living will partner with other nonprofits (i.e. Bessemer Historic Society) to complete small exterior makeovers on the blocks in which rehab projects are undertaken.  This particular funding is especially imperative to further stabilizing neighborhoods.  It provides curb-appeal to neighboring properties, creates instant impact and increases the value of the entire the block.  The makeovers may include, but not limited to: repainting front doors, adding window boxes, transforming lawns, enhancing flowers beds, etc. .

The Fix-it Fund:   This program is designed to assist low income homeowners (particularly seniors) and disabled persons who need help with minor home repair, maintenance or modifications to help them stay safely in their homes.  A project can be as simple as installing grab bars or stair treads. It may include the building of a ramp, installing smoke and/or carbon monoxide detectors, exterior doors, small paint jobs, thermostat replacements, patching of ceilings and motion detectors for exterior lighting.  Our objective is to provide repair services for 20 properties per year at no more than $2500 per property.
